BRISKET WITH PRUNES AND SWEET POTATOES

2lbs brisket (kosher is brined and tastes better)
1lb prunes
4 sweet potatoes
3 Tablespoons sugar
juice of 1 real lemon

simmer the brisket with prunes TO COVER for about an hour,,scrub and pare sweet potatoes.....cut into quarters into a 31/2 qt baking dish....add the steaming meat and prunes along with their liquid...sprinkle the sugar over the top and the lemon...cover tightly and bake 350 degrees for about 2 1/2 hours,,,gets richer the longer you bake eat and lick fingers yield:6
