ANGEL CRISPS
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
1 Cream sugars, butter, shortening, egg, and vanilla thoroughly. Spoon flour into measuring cup. Level off, pour flour onto wax paper.
2 Add cream of tartar, baking soda and salt to flour, stirring by hand to blend. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture; mix well.
3 Shape dough into 1 in. balls; dip top half into water. Dip balls into additional sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet; press down center with finger.
Bake in a 425 degree F(220 C) preheated oven for 8-10 mins
